Visiting Dinard

Between the Pointe du Moulinet where the hotel is located and the Plage du Prieuré, the Promenade du Clair de Lune is not to be missed for a pleasant walk in Dinard. This path alongside the sea offers magnificent panoramic views framed by unusual plants while you explore the lofty architecture of the famous Dinard villas.

Dinard market, held three times a week all year round, is one of the largest in the region, well-known for the quality of the regional produce on offer.

You can also find tasty morsels every day in the Halles de la Concorde.  There are also many shops and art galleries to visit on your walk around Dinard.

Of course, this seaside resort has some wonderful fine sandy beaches. The Plage de L’Écluse in the town centre, with its blue and white striped tents, the Plage de Saint-Énogat where the yacht club is located, the Plage du Prieuré with its sea water swimming pool opposite the wooded Port-Breton park and the Plage du Port-Blanc near Saint-Lunaire.

An inspiring city  of art and history, Dinard is also rich in cultural and sporting events that punctuate the year :

  • The Dinard Film Festival which, for over 30 years, has been showcasing independent films and short films from British independent cinema
  • The Dinard Comedy Festival which makes the public laugh since 1998
  • The International Music Festival held every summer in August
  • The Beach Polo Master Tour of Dinard, which take place in June on the Plage de l’Écluse
  • The Jumping International which also hosts an Official International Jumping Competition in France

Around Dinard

Connecting Dinard to the Corsair City, the emblematic dam of the Rance, with the sea on one side and the Rance the other, can be crossed and visited. The tidal power plant offers an instructive discovery tour.

Of course, Saint-Malo is a must see in Brittany with its ramparts, its historical monuments, its intra-murros city and its aquarium.

20 minutes away from Dinard by boat, the island of Cézembre uninhabited is a small jewel to know, its two south-facing beaches are very popular with boaters.

It Fort Harbour, built by Vauban, is not open to visit, it is possible to go  around it by sea and to walk on the foreshore at low tide.

The Valley of the Rance, which leads to lovely historical city of Dinan, can be traveled through the villages and small river ports, such as Saint-Suliac elected among the “Most Beautiful Villages of France”. Along the coast, a beautiful tourist circuit leads you to Saint-Lunaire, a seaside resort with Art Deco houses, to the Pointe du Décollé, then to Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, famous for its beautiful marina.
